Title: Faces and Structures
Year: 2018
Genre: Lecture / Essay
Production: SCCA-Ljubljana

ABSTRACT

The essay was the basis for the performative lecture by Christopher Krause accompanied by the screening of selected video works (April 25, 2018, SCCA Project Room, Ljubljana). C. K. was then completing his postgraduate studies in theatrology at the Institute for Applied Theatrological Studies in Gießen, Germany. At SCCA-Ljubljana, he conducted a one-month study practice in April - he focused on researching the video and the new media archive of DIVA Station. As an object of his research, he chose the image and its media presentation. The research of the archive led the lecturer to the preparation of the curatorial program of video works)* which he treated as found objects (objets trouvées) – more as a reason to unfolf a meditation about the realtion of seeing and interpreting, than as museum art objects. The selection, which included inserts from selected video works, served as a material for performative lecture. More on SCCA website: www.scca-ljubljana.si/en/christopher-krause-faces-structures
