

Marko Košnik zajema in interpretira video v realnem času, bodisi v skupinskih ali solo performansih, v živi igri z glasbenicami_ki, igralkami_ci in plesalkami_ci. Ob programiranju videoinštrumentov razvija tudi interaktivna video okolja za soudeležbo publike, bodisi s sprotnim zajemom njihove podobe ali za “gibanje” po topografsko predposnetih prostorih. Tovrstna video instalacija LUX v MSUM, ki je v več modulih obratovala dobrih osem mesecev, je bila verjetno najdlje stalno delujoče interaktivno okolje v Sloveniji (2016–2017).
Z interpretacijo nadzornih videosistemov se je ukvarjal v projektih Zborogled (Kino Šiška, 2015), Parahouse_12 (Ullsteinhaus, Berlin 2009), Batiskaf Trst (Mala galerija, 2006), Parahouse (Dessau, 1997) in Figura v prostoru (Galerija Škuc, 1993). Med prvimi je natančno mapiral video na gib (s koreografinjo Matejo Bučar – predstava Cukrarna, premiera Medienbiennale Leipzig, 1994) in na premične zvočne objekte – sonorostate (Hfbk Hamburg, 1992; Bauhaus Dessau, 1993). V projektu Paparapapa (Galerija Kapelica, 1998) sta se avtorjevega petdnevnega javnega delovanja preko video-netcastov udeleževala tudi Mike Hentz (lociran v Frankfurtu) in Christian Vanderborgh (lociran v Parizu).
Izgon iz raja klasične videomontaže je doživel s produkcijo projekta Piazzetta Ljubljana, s katerim se je slovenska performerska scena iz KUD France Prešeren v neposrednem prenosu udeležila prve interaktivne televizije – Van Gogh TV: Piazza Virtuale, ki je sto dni povezovala piazzette širom sveta iz studija na documenti v Kasslu (1992) z uporabo satelitskih prenosov in prototipov prvih videotelefonov.
Polimedijski umetnik Marko Košnik je z Inštitutom Egon March od leta 1986 realiziral 70 produkcij, od tega 28 mednarodnih, s preko trideset projektnimi sodelavci, od Soloveckih otokov v ruskem polarnem krogu navzdol širom Evrope vse do Istanbula, in od Mehike na zahodu, Japonske na vzhodu in Indonezije na jugu.
V predavanju s prikazi videodokumentov bo primerjal konceptualne, tehnološke in kontekstualne spremembe v uporabi in razumevanju gibljivih slik v obdobju štirih desetletjih umetniškega delovanja.
