Evelin Stermitz se je začela aktivno ukvarjati s spletno umetnostjo in netart projekti ob začetku študija na akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje v Ljubljani leta 2004, v času, ko je potekalo plodno sodelovanje med art.net laboratorijem na akademiji in Fakulteto za računalništvo. Tedaj je razvila projekt Ženski avatarji. Evelin Stermitz je iniciatorka ArtFem.tv, spletne platforme, ki jo pojmuje kot lastni umetniški projekt. Z njo ustvarja prostor za ženske umetnice. Na njen prvotni poziv k sodelovanju pri ustvarjanju strani so se leta 2008 pozitivno odzvale priznane umetnice, kot so Pipilotti Rist, Guerilla Girls in Martha Rosler. Stran vsebuje več kot 300 videodel 70 umetnic različnih generacij.
