An intimate, self-revealing pilgrimage across the wild territories of the unfabricated nature (of mind). The depicted natural worlds are breathtaking in their tactile, unprocessed beauty that excels in mysteriousness and dignified presence. An artwork that fearlessly allude to and manifests a basic ground of all-rightness, interconnectedness and sacredness intertwined throughout all levels – inner, outer and ultimate – of reality.
A Tree Doesn’t Fall Far From the Mountain is a Four-Act series of experimental feature-length art films in the making, produced by contemporary artists Jatun Risba (SLO) and Franco G. Livera (IT). The filming location is the irregular karstic spring of the Lijak Creek in West Slovenia which is dry most of the year, but surprises with a massive discharge after downpours. Lijak is located nearby Soča Valley, a mountainous region with aquamarine river rapids and dense emerald forests, that was once the site of WWI’s Isonzo Front, where 1.7 million soldiers died.
Ash Holder is the first feature film of the series. It was shot in April and post-produced in October 2022.
Dren. Devil's Tree is the second feature film of the series. It was shot in August 2023, during the occurrence of devastating floods in Slovenia that caused 7 victims and caused $500 million worth of property damage. The art film and trailer were post-produced in December 2023.
Salamandra, Salamandra, Salamandra is the third feature film of the series. It was shot in October 2022 and post-produced in February 2023.
Snowdrop is the forth feature film of the series. It was shot in January and post-produced in June 2023. (Source: Jatun Risba)
