Staro in novo je dokumentarec o posnetkih FV videa. Video rekonstruira živahni vrvež na ljubljanski subkulturni sceni v 80-ih letih, ki sta ji pripadala tudi avtorja. Množico dokumentov in video posnetkov, nastalih od 1982 do 1986, sta z minuciozno in hitro montažo slike in zvoka združila v enourno zgodbo, v kateri se lastna čustva in osebni pogledi prepletajo z družbeno-kritično subkulturo in širšim zgodovinskim okvirom - jugoslovanskim socialističnim sistemom. Eisenstein, čigar naslov filma sta si sposodila in ruska avantgarda sta bila njun navdih. Vrstijo se gledališke predstave in koncerti punkerskih skupin v podzemnem klubu in multimedijski performansi skupine Borghesia, podobe iz pornografskih filmov se prepletajo s podobami ostarelih socialističnih veljakov in političnih ritualov, v 80-ih sta začela delovati prvi gej klub in prvi ženski klub, filozofi kot Slavoj Žižek so razpravljali o razmerju med punkom in vladajočo kulturo, itn. Subkultura je spodbudila in napovedala premike, ki so zajeli socialistične režime v 80-ih letih, Staro in novo pa obuja ta herojski čas, ohranja narobno, marginalno plat velike, uradne zgodovine, piše zgodovino tistih, ki jih zgodovina izloča. ZANK je akronim za umetnika Zemiro Alajbegović in Nevena Kordo, ki sta v obdobju od začetka 80-ih do konca 90-ih let delovala skupaj, sprva v okviru gledališke skupine FV 112/15 in pozneje multimedijske skupine Borghesia. V 80-ih letih sta skupaj s sodelavci vodila legendarni FV Disko ter soustanovila video produkcijo FV Video, prvo neodvisno video založbo v Jugoslaviji, in pozneje tudi glasbeno FV Založbo. Skupaj sta ustvarjala video filme, dokumentarne videe in televizijske oddaje. Leta 1997 sta ustanovila Zavod ZANK.
