Nataša Prosenc Stearns - Code L – Fragments (00:59)
Production: Nataša Prosenc Stearns, 2019
Code L - Fragments is a video installation created by two synchronized projections onto transparent screens. They integrate shadows and silhouettes of visitors and reflections of the architectural elements into the body of the installation. What emerges is a space-inside-of-space into which the visitors enter. According to the curator Peter Tomaz Dobrila, “The artist used to place humans at the center of the natural environment in her earlier works, reappropriating the image of the human bo...

Uršula Berlot - Bodyfraction (07:40)
Production: 2020
The video Bodyfraction parallels microscopic images of fragments of the artist’s body (tooth enamel, skin, nails, hair etc.) with recordings of drawings and light-sensitive objects created on their basis. Drawings were digitally processed towards simulating the chemical process called 'reaction diffusion' which models (mathematically or visually) the behaviour of two chemicals in a solution as they mix. Such animated drawings form fractal-like patterns and together with modified recordings of reflecti...

Emil Memon - Caravaggio / Slayer (09:19)
Production: Emil Memon, 1994
Caravaggio video is part of the set of videos (Salvator Mundi, Gandhi and Salt, Architectural Triptych) from the early 1990s when Memon did research at a Photo/Slide library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), interested in great works of art and the nature of representation, documentation, and the literal physicality of the image itself. The video was made on the artist’s musical track Slayer. It turned the morphing of the image/painting itself into mediation. It was presented at his art shows i...

Lealudvik - Teufelskreis (02:25)
Production: Lealudvik, 2018
The video is an endless loop presenting a top-down view of an empty white surface, on which the naked protagonist crawls with obvious difficulty. Just before she disappears at the other end of the frame, a new instance appears, crawling to the other side with difficulty again. The overlap of the frames illustrates a vicious circle (Teufelskreis) from which there is no way out. (Source: DIVA Station) The video installation was part of the exhibition Lealudvik: As it is, so be it at Škuc Gallery in 2020.

Lealudvik - I would go poof! (02:04)
Production: Lealudvik, 2017
The two-channel video in the single-channel version shows two parallel images. The video on the left shows the protagonist walking from the city through the park into the woods. At the first trees she undresses and goes naked even deeper into the forest. The video is disrupted by digital glitches which causes the image of the body to disappear, merging with its surroundings. The right video in a short endless loop shows a naked female torso leaning, perhaps strapped, to a tree. Distinct breathing is noticea...

Lealudvik - In the waters on Leviathan I would go poof! (00:58)
Production: Lealudvik, 2017
The work is related to the project I would go poof! Here instead of a forest, the sea is the background. The video is a 20 second loop that repeats several times. It consists of three short sequences, each also in an endless loop. All sequences are full of glitches, which cause the disintegration of the image and represent a constitutive element of the work. The graphic sign drawn in the first sequence is the occult symbol of Leviathan from the title of the work. The video was part of the exhibition Wa...

Lealudvik - In Two (01:38)
Production: Lealudvik, 2016
In the creation of our work, we drew the greatest influence from Karel Zelenko's policy or his approach to the creative process. In his view that the main element of his graphics is drawing itself and not experimenting with the medium, we recognized a parallel with our approach to video, where we do not try to look for the capabilities of the medium, but use the medium for visualization. In analyzing Zelenko's oeuvre, we were influenced by his figurativeness, placing human at the center of events, fascinatio...
